The parquet flooring provides continuity and warmth to the spaces, contributing to creating a refined yet intimate atmosphere. To further enrich the spaces, two beautiful wooden beams, authentic architectural elements of character, become the protagonists of the environment and give the house a particular charm, balancing contemporary elegance with warmer, more tactile references. The color choice has also been skillfully calibrated: enveloping tones harmoniously combined enhance natural light and define a warm and cozy atmosphere, making each space pleasant to live in. The result is a home with a refined character, where materials, colors, and architectural elements interact with each other in balance. Piazza Capranica is located in the Rione Colonna, just steps from the Pantheon; it is an 11th-century building and one of the few surviving examples from the pre-Renaissance era. Its name derives from the palace built in 1451 by Cardinal Domenico Capranica to host the College for the education of clergy. After his death, his brother Cardinal Angelo wanted to create the family residence here and thus had the building with the corner tower built on the current Via del Collegio Capranica, to which he assigned the college (inaugurated in 1478), reserving the oldest part for the family. Thus, there were two marble portals with an architrave: the one under the tower bears the inscription "COLLEGIUM CAPRANICENSE" and five abrased coats of arms, while the other, the right one and entrance of the original palace, features carved coats of arms: in the center that of Pope Nicholas V, the other of the Roman People, and the date 1451 can be read. The portal also bears the inscription "TEATRO CAPRANICA," as it once constituted the entrance to the ancient theater inaugurated in 1679, which was later transformed in 2005 into a conference center that also hosts works and concerts.
