Prestigious 19th-Century Historic Villa with Park and Citrus Grove in Galatone We offer for sale an exclusive and charming historic villa located in the immediate outskirts of Galatone, in the province of Lecce. Immersed in a lush hilly area always renowned for its healthy air, this residence perfectly fits into a landscape context of great charm, historically chosen by noble families from Lecce for their summer holidays. The property enjoys a privileged and strategic position along the provincial road that connects Gallipoli to the provincial capital Lecce, rising right in the center of the "Cappuccini Archaeological Park", just one hundred meters from the homonymous cave dating back to the Neolithic period. Built in the second half of the nineteenth century based on a project by Engineer Megha and purchased by the De Paolo family at the beginning of the twentieth century, the villa develops a covered area of approximately 800 sqm. It is surrounded by a vast garden and a generous citrus grove that bring the total gross area of the entire property to 6,867 sqm. The building preserves intact all its imposing nineteenth-century architectural value, highlighted by cornices, pilasters, and elegant fixtures enriched by stone elements. The entrance to the noble floor is anticipated by two classic columns supporting a graceful veranda, but dominating the facade is the magnificent main staircase with two symmetrical "pincer" flights. This important work, embellished by a balustrade carved in soft Lecce stone with a floral "raceme" design of clear late-Baroque inspiration, was created in the early 1900s by the famous laboratory of Professor Faraone from Galatina. The interior spaces offer a journey through time and luxury craftsmanship. The ground floor, which once housed the servants' quarters and agricultural storage, features the ancient and charming "star-shaped" Lecce vaults. Going up to the first floor, the home reveals itself in all its elegance, divided into a comfortable living area and a sleeping area including three large bedrooms and two bathrooms. In addition to the entrance and hallways, we find a bright dining room, a kitchen with a dedicated pantry, a useful laundry room, and a refined corner study on the main facade. In the bedrooms, the floors are made in the "Venetian" style, decorated with intricate floral designs and bright mother-of-pearl inserts. The beating heart of the residence is the spectacular reception hall of about 140 sqm, paved with a majestic bichromatic "Palladian" mosaic depicting a large tree that branches out from the entrance throughout the room. Adjoining this room is an intimate and welcoming living room of about 50 sqm, warmed by a large fireplace. The walls of this living area are embellished with precious silk fabric wallpaper, while the internal doors stand out for their solid mahogany wood worked with studded leather inserts, in perfect balance with the bright white lacquered wooden external fixtures. To complete this dream home, at the rear, there is a large terrace supported by pillars that acts as a solarium. This outdoor space, in perfect continuity with the main hall, represents the ideal environment to enjoy moments of absolute relaxation outdoors. A property of inestimable charm, perfect for those looking for a prestigious private residence or a top-level investment for luxury tourism in the heart of Salento.
